After beating 20,000 applicants to be one of 800 chosen recipients, Intrinsic Energy received a total of £75k in grants to fast-track the development of their interactive, accessible and live online training platform. Backed by the UK Government, Innovate UK made £40 million available to businesses who were leading projects aimed to boost the economic recovery of the UK, after the impact of Covid-19. With this new funding, Intrinsic Energy were able to accelerate the development and release of their online training solution, that aims to shake up the current corporate training model, and empower the modern workforce to take control of their own career development.
After winning the initial grant of 50k, Intrinsic Energy also secured a further grant of £25k so that the project could be developed into 2021. Both grants enabled Intrinsic Energy to work with other UK-based businesses to progress the development of the project, whilst also directly giving back to the UK economy. Innovate UK connected Intrinsic Energy with Stronger Stories, a UK-based social enterprise helping businesses to find their “story”, which was a fascinating foundation in building the branding and marketing of the company. Intrinsic Energy’s founder, Katherine Baker, was thrilled to also be mentored by the team from Newable, who were partnered with Katherine to provide guidance and industry insight during those initial first steps.
